Truthfully, we wanted to come up with something more elaborate for a name, we wracked our brains for weeks โ but when telling others about our renovations, we kept referring to the cottage as the Bay House. We are located directly on the sandy shores of the Bay of Green Bay which connects to Lake Michigan. We also knew we wanted this space to embody a cozy and relaxed feel โ retreat matched that vibe perfectly. Thus, The Bay House Retreat was born! We officially opened our doors after some cosmetic work in July of 2023. Some of our renovations can be seen below!
LOCATION
The serene beauty of Michigan's Upper Peninsula at The Bay House Retreat, is truly where tranquility meets natureโs charm. Youโll have the chance to take in the stunning views of the bay of Green Bay while listening to the soothing sounds of waves crashing on the shore. Surrounded by nature, you can paddle along the bay with our paddleboards, unwind in our hammock, swim in the shallow waters, or soak under the stars in the hot tub.
The Upper Peninsula offers endless adventuresโfrom exploring lush forests and hiking trails to discovering local attractions and hidden gems. Whether youโre seeking relaxation or outdoor excitement, this area really has it all!

Mikayla is originally from Ontario, Canada. As her business Socially Mikayla Marketing is based in Canada โ she continues to spend much of her time there. We wanted to bring in a few personal touches to the property including Canadian based games that you will find in the cottage. We also wanted to add a easily identifiable landmark to differentiate our cottage along the highway.

Austin has dreamt of owning a property on the stretch of M-35 for as long as he can remember. This cottage will not only be space we share with guests, but also a place where we will make new family memories as well.
